Science Curriculum Support and Professional Development


Michigan Science Matters E-mail Information:  As part of a statewide project, linked to a national project, to establish a well-informed contact for science in every school building, the MLOMSC maintains an active listserv communication between our key leader, and the points of contact in each building.  Points of contact also meet periodically.

Recent work in science includes:

  • Assessment writing
  • Updating LEA science curriculum with the High School Content Expectations and Grade Level Content Expectations
  • Analysis of local MEAP and MME results for improved student achievement
  • Work with underachieving schools
  • Realignment of the Hands-On Science Kits to meet the Michigan Expectations
