Course Description |
|
The course content is designed to be a springboard for the student that desires to enter the job market or for the student who plans to pursue college education. Entry level job skills in the drafting and CADD disciplines are taught with leading edge design software. After learning 3D modeling techniques, students will use a rapid-prototyping 3D printer to print a 3D model. In addition to course study, students are encouraged to participate in the Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society’s (MITES) competition. Students’ projects are scored against other entries at both the regional and state competitions. Students will experience work-based learning activities through guest speakers and field trips to local companies to learn about current trends in manufacturing processes, specialized machinery, and career opportunities. |
