ARTICULATION AGREEMENT

BETWEEN

MASON-LAKE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT

AND

WEST SHORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

 

Based upon the mutual benefit of the Technical Preparation Partnership for both the needs of students pursuing occupational training and in an effort to provide a continuing articulated program that builds on past learning experience and eliminates unnecessary duplication of instruction, the following are agreements to which we mutually subscribe. 

Technical Preparation Partnership high school students who successfully complete their class will be eligible, upon meeting certain guidelines and upon graduation from high school, to receive advanced credit at West Shore Community College for the following programs:

GUIDELINES FOR ADVANCED CREDIT

 STUDENTS DESIRING THIS ADVANCED CREDIT WILL, WITHIN ONE YEAR OF GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL:

 1.         PASS A COURSE COMPETENCY TEST WITH 80% OR BETTER SCORE.

 2.         INFORM THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE OF THEIR DESIRE FOR COLLEGE CREDIT.

 3.         ENROLL IN COURSES AT WEST SHORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE AS EITHER A FULL OR PART-TIME STUDENT THAT PERTAINS TO ONE OF THE COLLEGE OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAMS LISTED ABOVE OR WHICH ALLOWS A STUDENT TO GAIN A DEGREE OR PROGRAM CERTIFICATE.

 4.         PAY ADMISSION AND STUDENT SERVICES FEES IN EFFECT AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.

 5.            STUDENTS NOT ENROLLED AT WSCC WITHIN ONE YEAR OF GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL MAY STILL BE ELIGIBLE TO EARN CREDIT WITH APPROVAL OF THE VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT SERVICES.

 

 PROCEDURE FOR ARTICULATION OF HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT

The following procedure will be used for the articulation of high school Technical Preparation courses to West Shore Community College occupational programs.  Credit to be articulated and procedure for articulation will be administered using the Articulation Agreement between the Mason-Lake Intermediate School District and West Shore Community College.

 The procedure will be:

 1.         High School students in a Technical Preparation program wishing articulated credit to West Shore Community College for specific occupational program will contact their Tech Prep instructor and take a competency exam for each course they wish to receive credit in.  Program and course eligibility can be found in the Articulation Agreement.

 2.         Each spring Tech Prep instructors will send a list of students successfully completing competency exams, along with the courses that they should receive advanced credit in, to the Director of Admissions at West Shore Community College.

 3.         The Vice President of Workforce Development at West Shore Community College will verify the accuracy of this advanced credit and send the list to the Director of Admissions at West Shore Community College.

 4.         The Director of Admissions at West Shore Community College will record the information in the college records and administer the advanced credits to the students using the Articulation Agreement between the Mason-Lake Intermediate School District and West Shore Community College.

 5.         Students wishing the articulated credit will contact the Director of Admissions and enroll at West Shore Community College as outlined in the Articulation Agreement between the Mason-Lake Intermediate School District and West Shore Community College.
